On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually been used on the model/celebrity in the advert to achieve such luscious locks?

I have NEVER been able to get my hair looking as good as the models, whichever shampoo I buy. So whats going on there? Am I washing my hair wrongly? (I do follow the bottle instructions of wash and rinse!) Do the models get washed with a more premium product before they start recording? Or do they legally have to use the product that is being advertised?

I wonder. Please tell me what you think?

They have a professional hairdresser styling the model's hair, with the use of hair extensions and hair pieces (In the UK and Ireland they now have to put this in the small print at the bottom of ads in magazines - same with mascara ads where they use false lashes!) Not sure if they have to legally use the product being advertised.

I did a beauty course before and the lady told us that for all of the commercials they spray the model's hair at the end with furniture polish! It's full of silicone and makes it really really shiny. The hair shine sprays you can buy in drugstores are like a watered down version of these. She said if we had a big event to use hair polish, but I'd prefer not to smell like a freshly dusted room!

No! Not necessary!

nooo! no chance. lol as i read your question there was a shampoo advert on tv. these people sit in a salon for hours having allsorts done to their hair to make it look stunning, there is also the advantage of lighting when filming too. its a selling technique and clearly it works lol

don't some of them use hair extensions etc?

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

Nope, they do not neccessarily use the product they are selling at all.

Models on the TV have way more things done to their hair and products in it than anyone does naturally, dont worry about it, no ones real hair looks like that with just washing it.

i think they must use bubble bath or something along those lines, coz i've never ever used a shampoo thats lathered up like it does in the ads,

in terms the models with the nice hair, i think they just have naturally great hair

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

I'm sure they do have to wash the hair with the product but then they get products put in and professional styling plus they probably have great hair to begin with....

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

i wouldnt think so-just like all those anti wrinkle creams that are shown modelled on flawless skin and those fantastic teeth whitening adverts on the most perfect teeth ever-

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

I highly doubt they use the real product advertised on their hair... the use of lighting and special effects can do wonders to their hair!

On shampoo adverts, Is the shampoo actually...?

hair on tv like food on adverts dont show up well , so they have to use other products no matter what it takes to make the selling of a product look good, so in answer to your question first ask yourself, is the condition of your hair great? and are you dark or blonde the light penetrates dark hair more also lots of camers lights

When you see these ads, you have to realise that the ad is there to sell the shampoo. So they will make the ad so that you believe you can have hair like the model The hair the model has is enhanced by computer technology to make it look fantastic , so you and thousands of other women will go out and buy it. Don't believe all the ads, read the tiny print underneath the ad. Those anti wrinkle creams, read the small print .

Well the lather the Herbal Essences used I can easily get from a tiny amount of shampoo on my long hair so I know that works! x
