Hairstyle Noob, need help?

Im a guy with thickish black hair that curls slighty at neck.

Im looking for a long hair style, similar to Ashton Kutchers over at

http://www.thehairstyler.com/how_to_styl...

Although it gives instructions, its not good enough for the noob I am, Id like to get my hair more managable, give it some bounce while holding that kind of look. Maybe there is some way I could get my hair thinned(not balding!) so that it gets like that?

i ono....

Help me out girls........I guess my real question is how should a guys long black hairstyle look like for it to look good?

Ok if your hair is thick, you can get it thinned out. You need some layers put through your hair, layers are done by cutting the hair on the bias to get diffrent lengths. This helps to thin out the hair and get some great looks from this it adds texture to. Can ask your barber to cut in some mid length layers to add some body to your hair. After you've had the layers put through, you can create volume by adding thickning spray before drying your hair, add the spray to the under the hair layers to hit the roots to mid lengths. then for xtra volume dry upside down and concentrate on heat near the roots. after its dry style using wax or moulding putty. Shockwaves do a great range for styling have a look round. Just rub the product on to your hands and use your fingers to tease and tame the hair to how you'd like it. and Taa daa New look ;) be a lil experimental with your hair, its fun to play about with it. Hope this helps *other products to look for are styling mousse, heat defence spray, to protect your hair*
